Probate Administration

Probate is the legal process of administering a decedent’s estate with the probate court. This process includes determining the beneficiaries, management of assets, payment of any debts, creditors and administration expenses, distribution of the remaining assets to the beneficiaries, and determination of homestead. Only assets solely in the decedent’s name and not otherwise disposed of by operation of law or beneficiary designations are subject to probate.
